Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal (SSFN) General Secretary Ramsahaya Yadav has said that his party will join the government within a week if the latter expressed its commitment to amend the constitution.

Speaking at an interaction organised at the Reporters’ Club in the Capital on Friday, leader Yadav said, “We will join the government within a week if the government shows readiness to amend the constitution. Discussions are being held, the talks was extended due to Phagupurnima.”

Leader Yadav said that his party will participate in the government if the government furnished written commitment to amend the constitution otherwise the party will not join the government.

“This issue should be included in the government’s policy and programmes. Written commitment should be furnished. We are ready to join the government,” Yadav said. “The taskforce will be formed to decide the Articles of the constitution to be amended,” he added.

He was of the opinion that his party will decided whether to join the government once the issue of constitution is finalised.

“Talks are underway among PM and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and our party Chairman Upendra Yadav are underway. The talks have gone positive so far,” Yadav said. The issue is likely to be finalised soon.
