Nepali couple found dead in Goa
A Nepali couple, who had been operating a business in India’s tourist hub Goa, was found dead on Saturday.A Nepali couple, who had been operating a business in India’s tourist hub Goa, was found dead on Saturday.
Durga Prasad Mahato (Tharu), a permanent resident of Kawasoti, Nawalaparasi, and his wife Tofa were found dead in their rented room. Local police have suspected that the couple might have been murdered.
According to Durga’s brother Rajendra Mahato, his family was informed about the couple’s murder on Saturday.
“We had no knowledge that Durga had a wife. We are searching for the detail information,” said Rajendra, adding, “We will initiate the process to bring back the body with the help of Nepali Embassy in Delhi.”
Durga, who had been staying in Goa for the past 12 years, was running a shoe store. The couple’s bodies have been kept at the BMC Hospital in Goa.
