Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) candidate Chaudhary had won the parliamentary election with a wide margin of 20,935 votes from Kailali-1.
Though Chaudhary was elected as the federal parliament member, the Election Commission had denied giving him his victory certificate.
Chaudhary had also tried to register a writ petition at the Supreme Court through his wife Ranjita Chaudhary seeking issuance of his victory certificate to her. The Supreme Court, however, had refused to register the writ petition.
Chaudhary is the alleged mastermind of Tikapur carnage in which eight security personnel, including then Seti Zonal Police Chief Laxman Neupane and a two-year-old child were killed during the Tharuhat agitation demanding a separate province that occurred on August 23, 2015.
