Three persons were killed and eight others were injured in a tractor crash at Bardibas-Jaleshwor road in Ramgopalpur-8, Mahottari, on Monday night.

Police said the tractor (Ja 1 Ta 3516) veered off the road and fell nearly 18 feet below, killing Sabitri Devi Mandal, 45, Satyandra Sah, 40, and Rambabu Mandal, 18, of Ramgopalpur-7.

The injured people were taken to Janakpur Zonal Hospital, police said.

The tractor was heading towards Tikuliya Bazaar from Hatpate in Sindhuli district, carrying pilgrims returning from the Mahadev Temple at Langurkhola. 

Police suspect the accident could have been caused as a result of reduced visibility because of fog.

Truck overturns on highway, causing 6-hour long jam

NAWALPARASI: A truck transporting clinker overturned in the middle of the East-West Highway at Daunne in Nawalparasi on Tuesday, causing a traffic jam that lasted for nearly six hours. Police said hundreds of vehicles were stranded because of the jam. There was no casualty in the incident.
