Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has summoned an emergency Cabinet meeting on Friday.
According to PM’s press coordinator Govinda Pariyar, the meeting slated for 4 pm is likely to announce the date for National Assembly (NA) election.
Earlier, the Election Commission (EC) had urged the government to hold the NA election on February 8.
Meanwhile, PM Deuba is holding a meeting with President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
PM Deuba, who is also the President of Nepali Congress, on Thursday met senior leaders of five political parties represented in the Parliament and discussed the election for Upper House.
