Former King of Nepal Gyanendra Shah has come to Nepalgunj with his family for a private visit. He is accompanied by former Queen Komal Shah and former princess Himani Shah.
Sources accompanying the former royal family in their visit said that the ex-king will visit mid and far-western Nepal in his 15-day itinerary.
Ex-King Shah inaugurated a four-star hotel in Nepalgunj built with his investment on Thursday.
Some royalists chanted slogans in support of the monarch during the ceremony, it is learnt.
According to one of Shah’s aide Hrishi Devkota, the ex-king is scheduled to visit Banke, Bardiya and some districts of far-west Nepal.
“This is their private visit. They are scheduled to visit various shrines and meet well-wishers,” said Devkota.
