He said that it was his first priority to establish Dang as the provincial capital of Province No. 5 in the existing federal set up, but if it does not happens Dang could be made a separate state in itself.
Mahara who won a Federal Parliament seat from Dang Constituency 2 was talking to journalists in Ghorahi of Dang on Saturday morning when he brought out his opinion on possibility of making Dang a provincial capital by carving out a separate state constituting of Rukum, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Dang, Banke and Bardiya districts.
“My voters suggested me that if Dang is not declared the provincial capital under existing federal structure, a separate state should be formed. Now I too have started thinking about it,” said Mahara.
