Senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota has been admitted to a hospital in London.
Nepali Embassy in London informed that Devkota is undergoing treatment at the King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, London.
Nepal’s Ambassador to London Durga Bahadur Subedi had also reached the hospital to meet Devkota. His condition is stable, Subedi said.
Detail of Devkota’s ailment has not been disclosed yet.
Devkota was appointed as the Minister for Health, Science and Technology during the regime of the then Gyanendra Shah in 2002.
He is the founder of the first neurological trauma unit in Bir Hospital.
Dr Devkota is also the founder of the National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences, also known as the Neuro Hospital, Bansbari.
