Two persons have been arrested in possession of 38 kg marijuana from Gajuri Bazaar, Dhading, on Thursday.
The detainees have been identified as Hridayananda Prasad Mahato, 27, of Kalyanpur-4, Parsa district and Akash Sunar of Birgunj.
Police said that the contraband was confiscated from a truck (Na 2 Kha 7311) heading towards Birgunj from Kathmandu at around 3 am today. The marijuana was packed in 22 packets and was concealed in cabin of the vehicle.
Acting on a tip-off, the marijuana was seized during a security check, Inspector Sanjay Timilsina said.
Mahato is the driver of the truck.
Police have impounded the vehicle and started investigation.
