CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Devendra Poudel has been elected to federal parliament from Baglung-2. He secured 28,827 votes.
His closest rival candidate of Nepali Congress Nara Bahadur Pun bagged 19905 votes. Poudel, who had deserted Maoists party to join Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti, recently returned to CPN (Maoist Centre).
