Left alliance candidate Nawaraj Silwal has taken a lead in Lalitpur constituency-1 as the votes are counted in the wee hours of Saturday morning. He is taking the lead by a margin of 995 votes.
Silwal has secured 6707 votes, while his closest contender of Nepali Congress (NC)'s Udaya Shumsher Rana has garnered 5712 votes.
Silwal resigned from the post of Nepal Police DIG and joined CPN-UML before the elections.
