Rukum
CPN (Maoist Centre) and left alliance candidates Tej Bahadur Oli and Purna Bahadur Gharti have been elected Provincial Assembly members from Rukum East constituency 1 ‘A’ and ‘B’.
Oli, a CPN (MC) politburo member and Rukum East’s former district in-charge, garnered 5,427 votes to defeat Nepali Congress candidate Doot Kumar Pun by a margin of 3,283 votes. Pun mustered 2,144 votes.
Similarly, left alliance candidate of Rukum East constituency 1 ‘B’ Gharti secured 5,816 votes to defeat his rival from Nepali Congress Datta Bahadur Basnet, who got 3,111 votes.
CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Kamala Roka has already been elected Federal Parliament member from Rukum east.
