A improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated targeting a vehicle carrying CPN-UML candidate for the parliamentary election from constituency-6 Lal Babu Pandit in Budiganga Municipality-5 of Morang district on Tuesday.
Former Minister for General Administration was heading towards Budiganga from Biratnagar for election campaign when the incident occurred at around 9 am today.
The bomb exploded 10 metres away from Pandit’s vehicle.
No human casualty was reported in the incident, it has been learnt.
Police suspected that the Improvised Explosive Device was exploded to threaten Pandit.
