An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was exploded targeting a team carrying ballot box at Kushe Rural Municipality-1 in Jajarkot on Monday morning.
The first phase of elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies were held in 32 districts including in Jajarkot on Sunday.
One Shanta Bahadur Basnet, who was carrying the ballot box at the time, suffered minor injuries in the explosion, according to SP Bhawesh Rimal. The ballot box was being taken to the district headquarters Khalanga.
The explosion caused no damage to the ballot box.
Police suspected that cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal were behind the explosion. RSS
