Rukum
The Election Commission has said that it will conduct re-election in two election centres in Rukum.
The EC decision comes after Rupa BK, 36, of Aathbiskot poured acid in a ballot box at an election center in Himalayan Secondary School in Aathbiskot Municipality-3 causing severe damage to ballots on Sunday.
Police have arrested BK and her attempt to disrupt the polls was foiled, DSP Rajendra Prasad Dhamala of the District Police Office, Rukum, said.
Meanwhile, police opened fire at Aathbiskot Municipality-11 in Rukum district after a ballot box of proportional representation category was set ablaze in Nepal Rastriya Secondary School Gatasaina (Kha).
Police said they opened fire into the air to control the situation following the incident.
