The Election Commission has said the first phase of federal parliament and provincial assembly elections are being conducted in a peaceful manner in 32 districts on Sunday.
According to information shared by Joint Election Operation Centre at EC, 40 percent votes were cast on average until 12:30 pm. The EC said the people are turning out in large number and participating in the voting enthusiastically in almost all the polling centres.
It has been learnt that the voting began a bit late in the mountain region due to cold.
The voting is ongoing at 4,465 election centres in 32 districts for 74 seats of provincial assembly and 37 seats of House of Representatives.
The voting will conclude at 5 pm today.
