Dhangadhi

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that he will become PM for another two terms.

The five-time prime minister, commenting on CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli's statement, said an astrologer had predicted he will lead the country as the PM for seven times. Oli on Wednesday had said that Sher Bahadur Deuba is the last Prime Minister from Nepali Congress (NC).

"An astrologer has said I will become prime minister for seven times. I will still lead the country for two more terms," he said at a press meet in Dhangadhi on Thursday.

Deuba, who hails from Dadeldhura district in country's Far Western region, said every development activities connecting the Far-West to the other parts of the country including bridges, roads, electricity, education and health, among others, were conducted at his initiatives.

"As of now, there is no second person in this region who can become prime minister of this country. I am the only one to get elected to the post and people from this region will vote for Nepali Congress to win maximum seats in the election," he said.

He went on to claim that his party will win a majority of parliamentary seats from province 7 in the upcoming elections.

Deuba also said communists would only utilise democracy but do little to strengthen it. "People will stand in support of Nepali Congress as democracy fares better than communist rule," he said. He also claimed that there was fear in people that victory by the left forces in the upcoming elections would bring authoritarian rule in the country.
