Nepali Congress (NC) candidate of Gorkha constituency-1 'B' Rajendra Bajgain has flouted the election code of conduct by chartering a helicopter for election campaign in the district.
Locals said Bajgain had flown into various places of Chumanubri Rural Municipality for election campaign on Sunday. NC's district president and proportional representative candidate for provincial election Hari Bahadur Ghale also accompained Bajgain.
The District Security Committee, however, said they had no knowledge about Bajgain's programme. "He is out of contact today. There is no information about him in the committee," police sources said. Sources said it is necessary to inform the security committee about election campaign but Bajgain had flown without giving any information to the committee.
CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) candidates, meanwhile, have filed a complaint at Election Officer's Office over the issue. Chief Election Officer Basanta Raj Poudel said they will write to Election Commission for action following the complaint.
