Wanted Indian criminals arrested from Pokhara
Three Indian nationals, who are in wanted list of Indian police, were arrested from Siddharthachowk in Pokhara on Friday evening.
Three Indian nationals, who are in wanted list of Indian police, were arrested from Siddharthachowk in Pokhara on Friday evening. A Nepali youth believed to be close aide of the arrested trio was also nabbed.
According to the District Police Office in Kaski, an investigation is underway suspecting that the suspected could be shooters. The accused were arrested while they were buying goods at a shop in the lake city.
A security source said that four Indian police personnel came to Nepal from Rajasthan, India, to arrest the Indian trio. The Indian police personnel came to Nepal in coordination of Nepal Police as there could be legal hassle to extradite them to the southern neighbour since Nepal and India have not signed extradition treaty, the source added.
"They were just arrested from here. Nepal Police Headquarters is working on it. The investigation is underway," said a police officer.
Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh confirmed the arrest of three Indian nationals. "The investigation is going on. Details about the suspects will be known later," said Singh, refusing to divulge any further information.
It is said that the arrested Indian nationals were involved in various criminal activities including murder and extortion in Rajasthan. The investigation is underway whether they came to Pokhara to hide or for some other plans, said the source.
