A soldier drowned in Khauraha River during a security patrol in Bardiya National Park on Thursday.
Three Nepal Army soldiers were deployed from Thakurdwara army barrack for the patrolling of the national park.
NA soldier Hemraj Buchhe, 34, of Kureli Rural Municipality in Rolpa district who was in the military for the last 13 years, drowned in the river while on a regular patrolling duty on Thursday, informed Acting Conservation Officer Ashok Kumar Bhandari.
The National Park has informed that the other soldiers who were on duty have returned safely.
The deceased armyman’s weapon and ammunitions have been recovered and Buchhe’s body will be handed over to his family after an autopsy.
