The Election Commission (EC) said on Wednesday that it had completed all preparations for taking nominations from the parties.
Those willing to run as independent candidates can file their nominations at the respective offices of chief elections officers and election officers from 10am to 5pm on Thursday, according to the EC.
The second phase of polls will be held in 45 districts for 128 federal seats and 256 provincial seats.
Organising a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav said that the EC was confident that nomination process would move ahead peacefully.
As per the EC’s poll calendar, complaints against the nominated candidates can be registered on November 3 and the EC will examine the complaints on November 4.
The date of candidacy withdrawal has been set for November 5.
The final list of candidates will be published and election symbols will be distributed on the same day.
