Nepali Congress Bajura district President Man Bahadur Rawal on Wednesday quit the party following a row over election ticket.Nepali Congress Bajura district President Man Bahadur Rawal on Wednesday quit the party following a row over election ticket.
Leader Rawal, who has been working as the NC district president for the past two decades, had laid claim over ticket for provincial elections from the district. However, the party decided to field Padam Bahadur Shahi in the last minute.
Leader Rawal was the NC candidate in the second Constituent Assembly election and was defeated by CPN-UML’s Karna Thapa. At that time, Shahi, unhappy with the party decision, had left NC to join the then UCPN (Maoist). Rawal had blamed Shahi for his loss citing the latter’s decision of deserting the party was the cause for the defeat.
Likewise, Rawal further said that the NC did injustice to him despite him being involved with the party since 2036 BS.
Meanwhile, leader Rawal has announced his support for leftist candidate.
Similarly, UML alternative politburo member Karna Thapa has said that his party would give Rawal an honourable position.
However, Rawal has not made any announcement regarding his joining any other party.
