Dissident candidates from left alliance withdraw nominations
Dissident leaders from the leftist alliance, who had filed nominations as independent candidates for the upcoming federal and provincial elections, have withdrawn their nominations.Dissident leaders from the leftist alliance, who had filed nominations as independent candidates for the upcoming federal and provincial elections, have withdrawn their nominations.
CPN-UML leader Niraj Acharya, who had filed nominations from Jajarkot for provincial elections following the alliance to field another candidate from the constituency, withdrew his nominations.
UML youth leader Acharya after withdrawing his nominations said that he simply followed party’s direction and did not want to weaken the leftist alliance.
Likewise, in Mugu, CPN (Maoist Centre) independent candidate Mangal Bahadur Shahi has also withdrawn his candidacy following a warning from the party central committee. The party had warned Shahi of 5 years action if he failed to comply with the party directives.
CPN (MC) politburo member Shahi further said that now the Maoists will also vote for the ‘sun’ symbol as decision of the leftist alliance taskforce.
