Police have arrested three persons in possession of two kg pangolin scales from Adamghat of Dhading district.
The arrestees have been identified as Jhanka Bahadur Adhikari, Bhim Bahadur Pandit and Ram Kaji Bhujel of Kiranchok, Gajuri-7.
A police team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested the trio while they were looking for prospective clients to sell the scales of endangered animal.
They have been handed over to the District Forest Office for investigation.
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) does not permit trade in four species of Asian pangolin.
