NC Central Working Committee meet underway in Baluwatar
A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is underway at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwater, Kathmandu on Friday.A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is underway at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwater, Kathmandu on Friday.
According to NC sources, the meeting is discussing the formation a democratic alliance under the party’s leadership and the criteria to pick candidates for the upcoming elections to House of Representatives and provincial assembly.
Senior NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the CWC meeting is holding discussions on the necessary criteria and method to be adopted while selecting candidates for the upcoming elections. He added the meeting will finalise a clear-cut criteria and guideline for candidate selection and the party’s move in the wake of recent political development following the announcement of a broad electoral alliance between CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre) and Naya Shakti Nepal.
Six political parties ready to forge democratic alliance have started homework to apportion electoral constituencies for the electoral alliance.
NC central leader Prakash Sharan Mahat said the electoral seats will be distributed based on the influence of the parties for the electoral alliance.
NC, Rastriya Janata Party (RJP), Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic and Nepal Loktantrik Forum have agreed in principle to forge electoral alliance.
