Leaders of various political parties offered and received tika and blessings from the elders on the auspicious occasion of Bijaya Dashami on Saturday.

CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal offered tika to his family members. A facebook post at Dahal’s son Prakash Dahal read, “Dashain, although a religious affair, is a festival where families meet and cultural values are exchanged.”

Likewise, Naya Shakti Nepal Party coordinator and Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai received tika from his father Bhoj Prasad Bhattarai.

Similarly, recently formed Bibeksheel Sajha Party Coordinator Rabindra Mishra also tweeted a photo of him and his wife receiving tika and blessings from his 82-year-old father and 74-year-old mother.

US Ambassador to Nepal Alaina B Teplitz receives Dashain Tika on the ocassion of Bijaya Dashami on Saturday.

Also, Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire, the comedian duo popularly known as Dhurmus-Suntali and widely hailed for their philanthropic work, also posted a photo after receiving Dashain tika and blessings.

Other celebrities including actors Hari Bansha Acharya, Priyanka Karki, Rekha Thapa, Namrata Shrestha have also posted photos of receiving Dashain tika.
