A newly built building with 80 beds of the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital came into operation from Friday.The new building was inaugurated on the occasion of the hospital’s 18th anniversary.
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who attended the inauguration as a chief guest, said medical workers should not be negligent in their job because a slightest of error on their part could end in death of a patient. Dahal also underscored the need for the hospital to emerge as a model health facility in South Asia.
Former Health Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa said that the healthcare providers should be determined to drive changes in the health sector. He spoke of the need for the government to import modern medical equipment to enhance medical services. The past chairpersons of the hospital management committee were also felicitated on the occasion.
