Parbati Adhikari, 35, and Gopika Tiwari of Nayagaun, Besisahar Municipality-1 in the district, were injured when a leopard attacked them while they were returning home after purchasing essential goods for Dashain festival, police said.
They are receiving treatment at the District Community Hospital in Lamjung.
“We suddenly came across a leopard when we were walking a steep road and the wild cat pounced upon me,” Gopika said, adding, “The leopard than attacked Parbati.”
“We were scared at first, but we fought back for a long time after the leopard swooped on us,” said Gopika said. “Later the leopard ran away after we screamed for help.”
According to local Ram Prasad Adhikari, the big cat has often been spotted in the jungle area.
