EC seeks clarification from UML leader Nepal
The Election Commission (EC) has sought clarification from CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal for breaching the election code of conduct.The Election Commission (EC) has sought clarification from CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal for breaching the election code of conduct.
The election body asked clarification from Nepal, who is also a former Prime Minister, as he was found involved in electioneering by wearing a cap with party’s election symbol.
The EC has directed him to furnish written clarification within 24 hours.
Why action should not be taken against leader Nepal who was engaged in the election campaign by wearing the cap with party’s election symbol which is against the election code of conduct, the EC said.
Similarly, the EC has also sought clarification from Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal member Ram Babu Singh and future mayoral candidate of Golbazaar Municipality Shrestha for organising a motorcycle rally in Ram Gopalpur of Mahottarai and Siraha respectively.
Meanwhile, the EC has urged the RJP-N to not organise rallies against the political parties.
The RJP-N cadres on Tuesday had pelted stones and waved black flags at leader Nepal in Janakpur.
