PM Deuba returns home after 5-day India visit

This was the maiden official visit of PM Deuba after assuming the top executive post on June 7.
Earlier this evening, Indian Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha saw off PM Deuba at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
During his visit, PM Deuba met his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, External Affairs Ministers and opposition party leaders, among others.
India and Nepal on Thursday signed eight pacts, including on cooperation in post-earthquake rebuilding, and fighting drug trafficking. The two countries have also agreed to set a timeline for completing energy-related projects including the detailed project report (DPR) of the Pancheshawr Hydro-electricity Project.
PM Deuba and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi also jointly inaugurated the Kataiya-Kusaha and Raxaul-Parwanipur cross border power transmission lines during a joint press meet after delegation level talks.
Deuba had left for India on Wednesday at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading a 59-member delegation.
He was accompanied by Deuba's wife Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Tourism Minister Jitendra Dev and Commerce Minister Meen Bishwakarma, among other members of the delegation.
