President Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted approval to mobilise Nepal Army during the third phase of local level elections stated for September 18 in Province 2.
The approval to mobilise Nepal Army during the third phase of local level polls was granted based on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
PM Deuba made such recommendation on August 21 after National Security Council decided to deploy army in purview of the security situation during third phase local polls. The decision was later endorsed by the Cabinet.
The army was mobilised in phase one and phase two local polls as well.
