Unknown disease claims four children in Sunsari

The deceased have been identified as Raj Karki of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-10, Priti Kumari Chaudhary of Sanchanpur-10, Saptari, Prashant Rai of Dharan-17. The identity the fourth child is yet to be established.
The children, who were brought to the emergency ward of the hospital on July 30, August 8, 15 and 17, breathed their last during the course of treatment.
Dr Prakash Paudel, who was involved in their treatment, said they were suffering from high fever, stomach ache and also vomiting the blood.
“The children died during the preliminary treatment,” he said, adding, “We will try to diagnosis the disease.” “We have not diagnosed the disease yet,” Dr Basanta Rai said. “It could be a common disease like scrub typhus, Dengu and Hanta virus, but the patients died before we examined the disease.”
