Rukum
More than 200 people have been taken ill in the Khadi settlement of Aathbiskot Munici-pality-3 in Rukum for the past one week. Health officials have failed to identify the disease.
According to Mayor Gorkha Bahadur KC, patients have been suffering from vomiting, headache, stomachache and pain in hands and legs. The number of patients is on the rise, he added.
Locals complained that the patients were deprived of proper treatment. There is not health facility in the Khadi settlement. The nearest health post is in Syala, which is manned by an auxiliary nurse midwife.
KC said two health workers, a health assistant and another auxiliary health worker, have been sent to the affected area.
