In connection to the cold blood murder of Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) in Dhading district last Friday, police have nabbed Tara Thapa Magar suspecting her alleged involvement in the murder on Sunday.
Magar’s husband, Shantalal Tamang, who stands another suspect of the crime, is at large.
According to preliminary investigation, ASI Bir Bahadur Gurung of Darkha Area Police Post in Khaniyabas Village Council, was called in to a corn field last Friday and murdered in cold blood, allegedly by the suspected couple, said Police SP Sharad Kumar Khatri.
Khatri further said that the call details of those who invited ASI Gurung to the corn field would be revealed on Sunday after completing court procedures.
Deceased Gurung is a resident of neighbouring Gorkha district. His dead body has been sent to Kathmandu for autopsy, DSP Dipendra Singh Panjiyar said.
Police suspect the couple for Gurung’s death as he was allegedly involved in illicit relationship with Tara Magar.
The incident site Darkha is located some 40km away from district headquarters. The remote topography and incessant rainfall has disrupted vehicular movement in the region while the telecommunication services are also down, it is learnt.
