Two persons died on their way to polling centres to cast votes and another one died on his return from a polling centre in Palpa district today.
Purna Chandra Bhattarai, 84, of Baganasakali Village Council-6 and Krishna Kumari Kumal, 62, of Chirtungdhara, Baganasakali Village Council-1 died on their way to cast their votes, while Lil Bahadur Sunar, 74, of Satdobato in Nisdi Village Council-6, died on his way back home after casting vote.
Bhattarai, who had reached the polling centre in Araniko Adharbhut School to cast his vote, died of asthma, our local correspondent said.
Police said that Kumal, who suddenly fell ill while heading towards the polling centre in Ram Higher Secondary School, was rushed to the Mission Hospital where she breathed her last during the course of treatment.
In Udayapur, Sheri Lal Chaudhary, 70, died while returning home after casting her vote.
Similarly, Narendra Bhandari, 82, died while staying in a queue to cast his vote in Damak of Jhapa district.
