All the polling stations of Ropla district have been enlisted as highly sensitive from the security perspective for the second phase of local level elections slated for June 28.
According to Chief District Officer (CDO) Dijan Bhattarai security has been beefed up in and around the polling stations.
More than a dozen of clashes have already taken place among the cadres of three major political parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre)—in the district.
The clashes occurred during the election campaigns, police said.
The district has 80 polling stations, 164 polling centres and 10 local units. Rolpa has 117,261 voters. Among them, 60 475 are women and 56,786 men.
