Police arrested two journalists, Khem Bhandari and G Bhatta (editor and executive editor of Manaskhanda Dainik which publishes from Mahendranagar) on charge of public offence on Saturday.
Police said that they were detained in relation to a news item published in the newspaper a few days ago.
The Kanchanpur chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalist has condemned the incident and demanded immediate release of the journalists.
