Police rounded up 13 district level leaders of agitating Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) during a rally in Banke district on Saturday.
The leaders were arrested while taking out a rally from party office in Tribhuvan Chowk.
Banke police chief SP Tek Prasad Rai informed the leaders were arrested in view of the candidacy registration for second phase of local bodies election on Sunday.
RJP-N leaders, however, claimed they were arrested when police interfered during their peaceful rally.
