Speaking during the meeting of Legislature Parliament on Friday, leader Nembang while conveying a congratulatory message to the newly elected Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, said that the government has failed to bring the opposition party into confidence in the name of implementing and making the constitution all-acceptable.
“The government did not discuss with the opposition when it was preparing bills for constitution implementation, constitution amendment or even when it decided to postpone the second phase of local level elections,” said leader Nembang, “The earlier government did not bring the main opposition that is considered a part of the government, into confidence and consensus. I hope the newly formed government does what its predecessors failed.”
Likewise, former House Speaker Nembang, responding to the government move to postpone elections in order to bring the Madhes-centric parties onboard the local polls, said, “The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has not confirmed to take part in the elections. And the government failed to keep the opposition is confidence.”
Similarly, leader Nembang said that the constitution could not be implemented if the parties, who were united when the constitution was drafted, are divided. “Parties who drafted the constitution should be on the same page and resolve the issues of the dissenters,” he said, “Then only the constitution can be implemented.”
The UML leader expressed his confidence that the new government formed under Nepali Congress President Deuba would bring the politics of consensus, which according to the opposition leader has been out of track, to its right place.
