The first woman Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Sushila Karki had assumed office on July 11 last year. She was the 25th Chief Justice of Nepal’s judiciary.

With Karki’s retirement, senior most Justice Gopal Parajuli will become the acting Chief Justice.
