President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Monday approved the government proposal regarding mobilisation of Nepal Army for the security during the second phase of local polls slated for June 14.
Earlier the Cabinet had forwarded the proposal for mobilization of army after the Security Council made the recommendation in order to conduct the second phase of local elections in a free and fair environment.
A statement issued by under secretary Keshav Prasad Ghimire said the president granted the permission for deployment of army during the elections according to Article 66 (2) of the Constitution.
