Yadav says royalists conspiring to foil statute amendment
Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav said his party would take part in all three-tier elections to institutionalise the achievements gained through constitution promulgation.Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav said his party would take part in all three-tier elections to institutionalise the achievements gained through constitution promulgation.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Dhanusha chapter of Sanghiya Press Forum Nepal in Dhanusha on Sunday, Yadav said various regressive forces were conspiring to make the federal republic a failure. He said they would continue their struggle to defeat such forces and ensure their rights.
Yadav accused royalist forces of plotting against the constitution amendment to make it a failure. "There were 401 lawmakers in support of the amendment and amendment was certain on April 30. But the royalists foiled it after which 10 lawmakers went missing," he said.
Yadav, however, was confident of amending the constitution. Government's decision to conduct election in two phases instead of one was the first step towards amendment, Yadav said. He also claimed that the local units in Tarai region would be based on population and its number would be increased.
He also expressed his hopes that all Madhes-based political parties would take part in local level elecitons and said talks are being held with Rastriya Janata Party and Bijay Kumar Gachhadar-led Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Loktantrik for the same.
