Nepali Congress candidate Dev Kumar Subedi won mayor post in Birendranagara Municipality of Surkhet district.
Subedi won 14,405 votes to defeat UML's Balaram Sharma on 13,899 votes.
The deputy mayor post was won by Mohan Maya Dhakal of UML. She won 16,068 votes.
