Police arrested three persons in possession of 2.5 kg opium from Kusum Check Post in Banke along the East-West Highway on Saturday.
According to police Inspector Bishworaj Singh, the suspects have been identified as Ayan Roka, Bhageshwor Rofa and Rupesh Pun of Bhume Village Council-3, Rukum, currently residing at Had Ghorahi.
Acting on a tip-off, the trio were arrested while they were transporting the contraband to Nepalgunj from Rukum on a motorbike (Ra 2 Pa 9954).
