The District Election Office is all set to hold elections in Ward No 4 of Namobuddha Municipality and Ward No 12 of Dhulikhel Municipality on Wednesday. Voting on May 14 was postponed in Namobuddha-4 after a local youth succumbed to bullet injuries on Saturday. Election officials had deferred the polls in Dhulikhel following the death of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate. According to Chief District Officer Shiva Prasad Simkhada, the election date was fixed after holding talks with the political parties, civil society and families of the victims. Nawaraj Pathak, 28, died of bullet injuries. The victim’s family and locals claimed that Pathak died in firing of Armed Police Force personnel. (PR)
