Bomb found at NC mayor candidate’s house in Syangja

A socket bomb has been recovered at the residence of Nepali Congress (NC) mayor candidate from Galyang Municipality-11 in Syangja district.
The bomb was found at the house of NC mayoral candidate Lal Gopal Aryal on Friday morning, police said. Police suspected that the improvised explosive device didn’t go off because it got drenched in the rain. The explosive was found partly burnt in the morning.
Aryal and his family members were in the house.
After the recovery of bomb, a bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army led by Captain Jeevan Bista went to defuse the explosive device. The NA team exploded the device by digging a 3-meter pit. Bista said the bomb was powerful could have caused a huge loss had it exploded at Aryal’s residence.
