CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided to field Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s daughter Renu Dahal as mayoral candidate from Bharatpur Metropolis in the upcoming local level elections slated for May 14.
Maoist Centre Chitwan District in-charge Ishwori Bhattarai said that her name has been approved unanimously and sent to the party central office.
The party has so far finalised the candidates for one metropolitan, 5 municipalities and 1 village council and started the publicity campaigns.
Renu Dahal is the party’s politburo member.
Similarly, Surendra Gurung has been named to run for the post of deputy mayor from the metropolis.
The party will officially announce the names of candidates through a press meet on Friday, it is learnt.
