At least 13 people were injured in a clash that broke out at the Jumla District Administration Office between police and the locals from Bayalkatiya village of Chandannath Municipality-9 on Tuesday. The Bayalkatiya locals were staging protest outside the DAO demanding that they should be allowed to graze their cattle in Sambhunath and Majhpatal community forests. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Sapkota claimed it was the protesters who first attacked the police personnel stationed at the entrance of the office. District Forest Officer Mohan Shrestha said the dispute stemmed after the Bayalkatiya villagers were barred from using the resources of the community forests by the people of Talium.
