A cyclist died after being hit by a Scorpio jeep at Shambunath Municipality-3 of Saptari district along the East-West Highway on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sulaan Miya, 24, of Rupani Village Council-1 in the district, police said.
Critically injured in the incident, Miya was rushed to the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar, but breathed his last on the way.
The jeep (Ba 7 Cha 9342) heading towards east from west hit Miya last night.
Police said that Mukesh Kumar Yadav, 23, from the same locality was injured in the accident.
He is undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital.
Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver for investigation. RSS
