Rekha Kunwar, posted at the Naumule Area Police Office but currently working at the District Police Office, filed the complaint against Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedar Rajaure, stating that he misbehaved with her at a public place. In the complaint registered at the Bheri Zonal Police Office, Kunwar has claimed that DSP
Rajaure manhandled her during the recruitment process of temporary police on April 2 in Dailekh.
“The DSP grabbed me by the hair and hit at my sensitive part. There was no reason for him to physically assault me,” the complaint reads. “Even if I had committed anything wrong in the course of duty, the senior officer (DSP Rajaure) should have called me to the office and take departmental action. I demand action be taken against him for abusing his authority by assaulting me in public.”
Refuting the allegations, DSP Rajaure, however, said that he had only scolded the constable who was on duty.
When asked about the incident, DIG Bijayalal Kayastha at the regional office vented his anger at the complainant. He blamed Kunwar of sensationalising the issue that never happened.
